Cambridge University Eco Racing

Cambridge University Eco Racing is a student-led team designing and building solar-powered vehicles, driven by a shared passion for sustainable innovation. The team is currently aiming to compete at the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge in Australia in 2027. This is a 3000km race from Darwin to Adelaide across the Australian outback, where the team will compete with Helia, a four-seater cruiser. Alongside their fundraising efforts for the Australia race, the team is also working on designing a new vehicle, SC7, hoping to bring it to life in the near future.
Beyond the race itself, the Challenge will be an opportunity to showcase the UK’s dedication to striving towards net zero. It is also a learning platform for passionate young engineers - the next generation of professionals who will be shaping the renewable energy and sustainable technology industries for decades to come.
