Alison Campbell OBE

UK Lead Climate Negotiator, Department for Energy Security and Net Zero

Alison Campbell is the UK’s Lead Climate Change Negotiator responsible for advancing the UK’s climate interests through the UNFCCC, G7 and G20, based in the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero. Alison has held several senior climate change roles in the UK Government. She spent 3 years as Deputy Cop Envoy and Deputy Lead Negotiator in the UK’s COP 26 Unit, leading on diplomatic engagement and the Glasgow Climate Pact. Prior to this she was based in the Department for International Development, leading teams responsible for adaptation at the UN Climate Ambition Summit and developing the UK’s international modern slavery strategy.

Earlier in her career, Alison was part of the UK and the EU’s negotiating team for the Paris Agreement and held Cabinet Office roles focused on wider multilateral policy. She is a Scientist by background, receiving her MSc in the field of environmental policy from Imperial College, London.
